Brought a car, only to find out that it had a dent in the boot, and that it had been written off !! With the Mot they gave me was void. When I returned to confronted then they would not give me a refund, which ended up police being called, lucky they helped out and got my refund and to my joy the police found they had more dodgey cars , and trading standards got involved. They use to have a good name but the new owner is a crook !!!

More bad reviews and more about the den of thieves. Here is Sebastian Mauris Chirila Surrey First Cars LTD aka Sammi Alsawali from Sandhurst Bridge Cars LTD and his accomplices. So now they try to hide behind EMC Car Sales and are advertising on Auto Trader UK. If they were such a bonafide company why the desperate attempt to hide their bad deeds.

Surrey First Cars - Review in Dealers category
This is a rouge trader whose business has been set up as a stack of cards. There was an active compulsory strike off notice issued to the company on the 7th February 2017. They were looking to dissolve. Knowing this they still continue to sell cars. They ignore the conditions set by companies house and seek to dissolve, so that it appears the company no longer trades. This is done to try and prevent the company/ director being liable or frustrate any potential legal action. See link below https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/officers/pXxL2oMCn8vpFt_KERYWhqL_s24/appointments This director using a different name was also a director for Sandhurst Bridge Cars LTD, which was dissolved. The company was featured on the Sheriffs are coming and its clear this is the method of operation for this owner. I would advise contacting trading standards as well as a solicitor and continue to pursue your complaint. As you have seen from the reviews others have been in contact with trading standards, the more concerns raised the more this company will have to explain. They have contempt for the law and the rights of consumers, and anyone who has handed over their hard earned money only to find out that the car purchased is faulty. Sebastian Mauris ( Director)or Sammi Alsilawi I hope you are reading this as you seem to keep an eye on this site and the reviews. You told me that I spent to much time on the internet and you are right, and I and along with others will continue to expose you for the conman you are. You had the opportunity to show integrity and do the right thing but you chose not to.

Bought a car from Surrey first cars aka emc motors

These guys are rogue traders stay clear from them. I bought a car in 2015 a Lexus 220d for 4150. On my way home driving the car started making some strange noise and it was struggling to pull. The following day I took the car to a dealer ship to check what the problem was. After instection, I was told the car had problem with compression therefor it was going to cost a lot of money to fix. The dealership advised me to contact Surrey first cars aka EMC motor to let them know and take the car back. However upon contacting them, they gave me a lot of excuses I had to involve trading standards but still they would not fix or offer refund. To cut the story short i went through *** with Surrey first cars aka emc motors. I ended up taking them to small claims court that's when they offered to repay the car but then they started accusing me of putting petrol into the tank instead of diesel. It took them three months to fix the car so I had to buy another car for work while waiting for them to fix my car. Even after the car was fixed, it was not properly fixed at that point i decided to cut my losses because of the distance i was travelling and the inconvinience. All i can say is please people stay clear off these rogue traders unless if you have money to wast as these people will sell you a car that is not road worthy.

Dodgey Rougue Dealership DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
If you are planning to buy a car from this dealership then DON’T. On 12th July 2016 I purchased a Ford KA from Surrey First Cars, after having the vehicle for two days I had noticed that the wheels were unbalanced, this is not a serious problem so I took it to my local tyre garage to get them balanced only to find out that the locking wheel nut was missing (this was strange as the KA had brand new front brake disc pads), we also discovered that the items that were supposed to be in the boot if the car had a puncture were missing also. I spoke with Zach and he said to come to the garage and they would sort it out after I clearly said I will not be paying for this. 19th July (5 days after having the vehicle) the air conditioning stopped working and was blowing out hot air. 20th July my dad and I went to the garage, Zach was not working and hadn’t told his colleague that we would be coming in to get the problems sorted. Surprise surprise he could not find the unlocking key. However he did say if I rang up Ford and gave them my license plate then they would be able to provide me with a replacement unlocking key and shouldn’t cost more than £15. He also spoke to Zach on the phone and apparently now there would be a charge to balance the wheels despite the previous week Zach stating there wouldn’t. 21st July I rang up local Ford Garage and the helpful mechanic said that there should be an 8 digits number on a white card found in the handbook wallet in the car however we didn’t have this despite the advert clearly saying that the KA came with FULL service history, it didn’t. Everything had been stripped from the car. So my option was to *** the existing wheel nuts and change them to universal ones (making my alloys more vulnerable to theft) this would also cost me over £100. I sent Zach a text to say I’m not prepared to pay this cost and I expect them to reimburse me for the costs’. He said he will talk to the guys leave it with me. Later that day I received another text to said ‘being honest they can’t find it…just go to the garage and get them taken out and save yourself 50 quid! 22nd July On the way home from work, my car had a serious overheating issue, with the thermostat showing a reading of higher than the meter, red light come on and a message saying turn your car engine off immediately. My partner messaged Zach to say we are rejecting (As all these problems happened within 30 days of purchasing the car) the car with a list of all the problems. Zach says he needs to speak with his boss and he will get back to us. 23rd July No reply from Zach Monday 25tH July My partner tries to call Zach numerous of times this day and no answer, Zach finally responds and says that he is busy and he will call him back. He doesn’t call Justin back. I call ‘Consumer Advice’ who take calls on behalf of the trading standards regarding the KA and they have gave me some steps to take and the first one was to make sure you have rejected the vehicle in writing, email/recorded letter (I asked about the message we sent Zach and they said that’s fine) but also do either of the other two forms of communication. Wednesday 27th July I send a letter first class recorded delivery to the garage site address to say that I am rejecting the vehicle Thursday 28th July The letter was rejected and refused to sign for, I then send another letter to the directors home address, I ring Zach a few times to see what is happening, and he replies to say that myself and my partner are hassling him. I message him to ask him for the V5 document, but it appears he has blocked my number Friday 30th July My letter to the director at his home address was also refused Monday 1st August Myself and my partner drove to the garage address to hand deliver the letter and ask to see the boss. A man (who we believe is the boss) says that the boss will not be on site until 5:30/6pm. So we wait until 5:45pm and ask the man if the boss (who we get told is called Eddie) is around, he says Eddie will not be in today. We then give the man the letter (all on video evidence) tell him what happening, he reads some of the letter and we left it as the boss will give us a call the following day. The atmosphere grew very hostile as the garage and the land the garage is on is unwelcoming to say the least! Tuesday 2nd August The next day came, and no phone call. I rang the office to ask the boss’ name and I got told it was Marius Wednesday 3rd August Asked to speak with Marius and I get told he isn’t in, ask when he is next in and the guy on the phone said that he isn’t sure when he’ll be back in the country. I then get a court order in place to get bailiffs involved, however they are unable to seize anything to my vehicles value as no vehicles on the site are in the names of the company nor the director apart from some old tatty desks. Please please please stay away from this rouge dealership and go elsewhere. I am now left with a vehicle I do not want and can’t sell for the value I bought it from as it doesn’t have any service history. I managed to ring the old owner of the vehicle after finally receiving the V5 document and he had told me that the vehicle had brand new tyres, all service history, brand new mats the lot but unfortunately this dealership has stripped the contents bare.

Bought a Mitsubishi and it immediately gave me problems. Garage refused to do repairs and I took it to another garage and the cost of repairing it was more than the cost of the car. Took it back and demanded a refund. Owner refused a refund and eventually sent it to another garage for repairs when I complained. I alerted trading standards to potential miss selling using 'fake number plates' but I am not aware whether they are investigating or not. Today I arrived to find the car parked outside my home and a note to call a mobile number. The person I spoke to told me he had been asked to repair the car and after finishing the repairs he could not find the owner of Surrey cars because he had closed shop and gone back to Romania. I am going ahead and approaching the small claims court and hope to get a favourable judgement.

I'm in the same situation, I also bought a car which has thousands of pounds worth of repairs needed. The owner hasn't shut up shop, in the past week they have deleted their website / autotrader but started a new company at the same address with the same numbers and same stock on autotrader called EMC.

They have a record of doing this.

They've also been reported to HMRC as the invoices they provide are illegal, with no company details on. Possible tax evasion.

Please feel free to contact me for any further info

So is Sebastian the director of this new company? Can he be sued for what happened with the previous company?

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1319451

As far as I can tell, they haven't registered the new company yet (not on companies house etc) so there is no telling who is the director this time. As SFC is a limited company, im pretty sure that he can't be held liable for anything unfortunately.

The company 'Surrey First Cars Limited' is just a cover. There was no mention of that name or the registered number on the website, so if you want to take him to the small claims court you need to go after "Sami Mahmoud Al-Salawi trading as Surrey First Cars". I also urge you all to contact Autotrader UK as they hosted 'Surrey First Cars' and are hosting 'EMC Car Sales' and are currently investigating the link, but need further evidence.

Finally, Sami Al-Salawi has form, take a look at this

It might be pointless going to a small claims court if the director has closed shops and gone back to Romania. Just wondering with all those cars his business owned are they being shipped back to Romania ?

If you were sold a car using fake number plates then this is potentially a criminal matter and would strongly advise you to pursue this.

Surrey first cars

Bought my girlfriend her first car a 1.4tdi polo one of the better ones we could find at the time. The price was right the car was tidy enough for fifteen years old. I was told full working order and nothing wrong. Paid a deposit and organised to pick up three days later I was told the car would be cleaned in the mean time. Went back paid in full and started driving home air *** didn't work and then warning light for low water level came on ten minutes later. As I'm a mechanic I sorted the leak the next day and so far the car has been fine straight through its mot I must be one of the lucky ones, but would never go back.

Hi

I am experiencing the same problem. After 6 days lots of problems with engine.

Requested refund but they have refused, said they carried out repair, which they clearly have not done, because the problem is still there.

I have done research and will follow steps as advised.

Wish I had done a review on them first.

Dreadful Dealer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Like so many others I bought a car and there were 8 faults with it in the first 6 months. Some the dealer repaired but others he refused to do so I had to pay for the repairs. Advised by trading standards to go through the small claims court as the dealer is legally liable for the costs. Despite a judgement in my favour I am still waiting for a refund.... The lesson is; Avoid this place and do not buy a car from them otherwise you will have problems... To those who have had a similar experience - complain! The more complaints there are the more likely it is that trading standards will do something about this place.

Surrey First Cars - Very Happy With The Service Review

Excellent after sales service***** Bought a Vauxhall Corsa back in September, at time of sale the car was MOT'ed to 5/2/2017, I have requested a year mot they have offered me a 12 when it's due. Last week I've called them to arrange my mot, after reading the reviews on this site I thought I will get *** off. Thought to try my luck and they asked me to bring it for mot on Monday and will be done there and then, it had failed on couple of things. They provided me with a courtesy car and my car was ready to pick up the following day, really pleased with the service I had and I will defenatly recommand.

Is this another case of the owner writing his own reviews in order to fool the public into thinking he runs a decent company?

Yvette Mtn

Glad I read the reviews I was going to buy a car I was interested in. I hope everyone who has been money not refunded gets their money back. If you sell bad cars you must give buyers money back otherwise you are stealing money and that's not good business.

I am going to share on my Facebook so anyone buying cars in Surrey will not go here.

Hi there,

After reading these comments I feel I am not alone in this but also a fool for not checking the business out before!!

Bought a car 17 March this year from Surrey first cars and it broke down the next day. They are refusing responsibility.

I am pursuing the case under the consumer rights act and if need be I will take it to court.

Thanks for sharing your poor experiences.

Having huge issues with this place, can you please advise? Im pretty sure how to proceed legally but it would be good to know other situarions / how others have dealt with this or if there is a pattern of problems that are recurring for multiple people. Many thanks in advance !

Hi,

It is interesting to see how many people are having problems with this dealer.

I bought a car from them in 2015 when they were trading as Surrey First Cars. The car had many problems which, initially they fixed but as the problems mounted they refused, so I had to pay for the repairs myself.

I wrote to ask for a refund, no reply, I tried the Ombudsman but they did not respond to them either. I went to the small claims court and they didn't respond to the court so I had judgement entered by default, still no payment. I paid for the bailiff to go round and, low and behold, they had "ceased trading" officially and were now Surrey First Cars Limited.

So again, they got away with it. I have also reported them to Trading Standards.

Happy to share any info if it helps.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1307274

Hi,

I would suggest complaining to trading standards Surrey branch. This has to be done via citizens advice, there's a web form to fill in.

If you go to the small claims court I have been told that it is better to claim against the owner of the business (name and address can be found on-line using companies house) rather than against the business, which is what I did. However, there was a move to strike the company off, which has now been suspended, so I don't know what significance this will have.

Yes, you can use the following email address; steelelesley@***.com

Good luck

They believe that ignoring the client will make the issues go away

Original review Nov 29, 2016
I bought a MB CLS from them on the 30th of September (2016) - after 2 miles the alarm of "Tyre with low pressure" came on, we called and drove back, they put some air in the tyre and said that everything was fine - we drove off. As we drove home (26 miles away), the car asked for 1l of oil, stopped at services, couldn't lock the car - this was just the beginning of pains. As the low tyre pressure alarm came on again and again, took the car to the tyre place to find out that the rim was cracked - called them, several times - took them 3 weeks to replace the rim. On that same day, the car developed a noise - ball joint issue - we were told to use the 1 year warranty we paid for (independent company), that refused to pay, so did First Cars Surrey (Bagshot) - we paid. The car was taken to the mechanic for a check up, came back with a list of issues, which we believe still are the responsibility of First Cars Surrey - We do not want them to fix everything that is wrong with the car, but there are quite a few issues that need fixing, during the check up it was noticed that the wheel replaced was the wrong size. Today we had to wait 2 hours for the wheel to be replaced and on attempts to speak to the owner of the business, on the phone, as he is always no where to be found, it ended up with him screaming down the phone and hanging up on us. Some how this will have to be resolved, even if it requires legal action...

Hey, I have had similar issues with a car I brought from them. ~£1000 of damage found 22 days after the car was brought, they wont reply to phone calls or legal letters stating the consumer rights act protection within 30 days.

Surrey First Cars - 2009 Ford Ka Car Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Awful service, all crooks. We brought an 09 KA of them and as we were driving it home it died on a very busy road. Turns out it had run out of petrol. Although Surrey first cars didn't have to fill the car up there was no warning given to say that the petrol was low. Once filled with petrol the car was fine to drive the next day. However the day after a warning light came on telling me to turn off the engine as there was a problem with its temperature. Got out of the car worth steam coming out the engine and the engine temperature gage at its highest. Allowed car to cool and then filled coolant up to max level. The next day I drove about 10 mins down the road and the collant level had drastically fallen. The car was not safe to drive! Called the garage to get them to fix it and was assured the manager would call back and we're still waiting for that call despite calling back many times. I have been left drastically inconvienced with no car and a possible high repair bill. Do not buy from this company!
